About Ben Waters

Ben graduated from Cornell University's Bachelor of Architecture program in the Spring of 2015.

Ben approaches his work through a rigorous design process, rooted in research of the site, its typologies, and its experiential phenomena. He relishes anomalous forms that are contextual in unexpected ways.

He practices architecture because he believes design can alter long-held preconceptions, change the way people interact, and above all, change the way people think about their relationship to the world.

He's a shameless francophile.

He can't get enough of Game of Thrones or House of Cards.

He loves to stay active, whether it's running, rowing, or cycling.

His favorite ice cream flavor is pistachio.

He is a major foodie: he loves to cook as much as he loves to eat and is considering getting his Sommelier.

He loves to travel, getting as much exposure as he can. When he travels, he prefers to experience rather than document.

He views his personal style and presentation as an extension of his work.

He is proud to work in Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill's (SOM's) San Francisco Office, collaborating on the Interiors Team, lead by Susan Orlandi.
